About Us

Our Story

WIN Athletic Club has come full circle for owners Kris and Erika Gruner.

Kris was an All-American, Division III football player and Erika was a varsity swimmer at DePauw University in Greencastle, IN. “We met our Senior year in a class called “Teaching and Coaching Individual Sports.” Married for 30 years, Kris and Erika have continued their love of fitness and coaching. Kris has coached football for nearly 20 years. Currently Kris is the JV Defensive Coordinator at Evanston Township High School. Erika has been a swim coach at the McGaw YMCA and has competed in many triathlons over the years.

Kris Gruner spent the first 25 years of his career in the commodity option trading business. At the end of 2017, he decided to retire from the option trading business and join his business partner and personal trainer, Chris Falcon, founder and owner of REACTIVE P.E.C., and create an entirely new business built around fitness, coaching and connection.

With the interior design expertise of Chris Falcon’s wife, Basia Falcon, owner of Heima Design House in Highland Park, WIN Athletic Club was thoughtfully designed to provide an atmosphere that encourages both fitness and connection. A place where our members feel comfortable and motivated to become a better version of themselves. A place where the experience of fitness is better shared. You can have a bike in your basement but what about the energy of human connection? We want to cultivate experiences for people that lift you up.

Kris and Erika take pride in always being there for their family and friends. “We take our personal philosophy into our business: be as real as possible. If people understand that you are honest and you have integrity, they tend to gravitate to you. At WIN, we do not have a big sales pitch. We want you to feel comfortable and not pressured.”

So come experience the WIN difference, and leave feeling like your experience mattered.
